The SHAPE consortium brings together lead members of the Integrated Assessment Modeling community (PIK, IIASA, UU) with experts in sustainability science and governance (IDOS, SRC, RIFS) and industrial ecology (NTNU). The strong modelling expertise in the consortium is strategically paired with leading researchers on sustainability governance and expertise in transdisciplinary stakeholder dialogue.
The project aims to establish a new European constellation of policy and business-engaged research centres equipped to link global-level integrated analysis with context-situated dialogue and engagement. This will enable a dialogue between policy and business experts with different perspectives and from different country backgrounds. It adds new contextual foundations to the scenario modelling. Ath the same time it brings togester the perspective of long-term transformation scenarios to the question of region- and actor-specific near-term action.
The project consortium is supported by a Scientific Advisory Board with international experts.
SHAPE cooperates with the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Germany and the global research initiative The World in 2050 (TWI2050).
